About Rita...

Rita C. RicksRita Caldwell Ricks is unlike any other person on the speaking circuit, because she coaches everyone in her view.  Her wisdom, wit, energy and encouragement are the catalysts which inspire her listeners to renew the person within. Rita’s dynamic presentations are custom made for each group and, wherever possible, she moves through the audience to personally connect with individuals. She shares her life’s experiences.  She speaks to your Spirit. She is a Life Coach, Inspirational Speaker, Workshop Facilitator, Award winning Entrepreneur and Author.  Rita is recognized by her peers and clients alike as a person with high energy, infectious humor, and caring insight.

Rita began her career as a middle school teacher. Listening to her Spirit, however, led her to become a partner in a fashion boutique. She soon realized that even as she helped people to look stylish on the outside, often the clothes covered hurts, fears and a life purpose not followed.  After two years at the boutique, she listened to her Spirit once again and decided to combine her talents, gifts and experience and open her own business.

In 1988 Rita launched Mirror Enterprise INC. a professional and personal development training company. Her emphasis was on The Impact of Image which became the title of her first workshop series followed by a video titled Careering: A Concept for Success.  This video, created for high school and college students,  highlights the proper way to interview, dress appropriately, network effectively and practice proper meal etiquette. Two years later Mirror Enterprise INC. broadened its service offerings to include diversity training, leadership development, customer service, team building, and management training.  In 2005, she felt led to leave Mirror Enterprise and Become a Life Coach.

In 2007, Rita wrote and published “PERMISSION GRANTED! A JOURNAL OF SPIRITUAL EPIPHANIES”.  Unlike most journals with blank pages, this one asks provocative questions that invite you to take a critical look at yourself and embrace the life that is uniquely yours.  In 2011, Rita completed the RUAH School of Spiritual Direction where she was trained in the ministry of Spiritual Direction in the context of Contemporary Urban Christian Spirituality.  Several of the assignments required her to Be silent for 24 hours where she learned how to Listen in the Silence and it has ultimately changed the trajectory of her life.  Listening allows persons to identify their passion, embrace their gifts and follow their purpose.  Rita coaches her clients how to move from Confusion to Clarity…from a life of feeling stressed out, frustrated and stuck to one of total joy and fulfilment.

Rita earned her B.S. in Sociology from Virginia State University and her M.Ed. in Adult Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She received executive management certificates from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
